First trailer for Elysium proves that Neill Blomkamp's still got it

Here it is — the very first trailer for Neill Blomkamp's long-awaited follow up to District 9. Elysium stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley — and an army of trigger-happy droids. Check out the mayhem and stunning visuals right here!

The set up for Elysium is fairly simple, here's the official run down:

Set in the year 2159, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.

Elysium will hit theaters on August 9th, 2013.
