Once Upon A Time's executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have hinted that viewers will find out more about Rumpelstiltskin in upcoming episodes.

The duo told TV Line that fans of the show will get more information about why Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) behaves in the way he does.

Kitsis described the character as a "complicated man", while Horowitz teased: "There's more to come this season about him and his son and what happened there that may, hopefully, shed a little more light."

Kitsis added that there is "some humanity" to Rumpelstiltskin and said: "A lot of these characters have grey areas."

Kitsis recently revealed that he would love Jamie Dornan to return to Once Upon A Time in the future.

The show airs on Sundays at 8/7c on ABC.
